- Post 10 September 2022
We call upon Arameans worldwide to celebrate Aram Day come 1 October 2022. On that evening, WCA, its Federations of Germany and The Netherlands, and our Aramaic-speaking satellite channel Suryoyo Sat will be hosting an exclusive event for 100 Arameans that will be broadcast LIVE from the studio in Gütersloh, Germany.
If you also would like to participate in this LIVE event, until 27 September you can register here (https://tinyurl.com/24emapke) !

Centuries-old Aramaic calendars and church books show that 1 October was celebrated as “the New Year of the Arameans.” On this day, our church fathers also decided to honor St. Aday (one of Jesus’ 72 disciples from Luke 10:1) for Christianizing the Arameans of Aram.
As a means to preserve this ancient but meaningful tradition, and thus to help strengthen our collective identity, last year WCA proclaimed the traditionally commemorated Aramean New Year of 1 October as Aram Day, as a National Day of the Aramean People.
Last year's letter is still insightful as it gives you more information about this old and special day in these 9 languages:
